Spring 2025 Road Report: Plowing Costs, Paving Plans & Community Updates

Our Road Maintenance More Important Than Ever

1st quarter 2025 Echo Chalet Road update:  As of this letter, we have $38,323 in the checking account.  We have spent $11,550 on plowing this season so far.  Just the maintenance on the road during winter to have adequate access for an emergency vehicle is a constant concern for the committee. Insurance companies are getting harder to find to insure homes in Montana, and they look closely at access now, so our road maintenance is more important than ever.

Creating An Echo Chalet Road Website

For cost savings in communications with all of you, we would like to shift over to email for updates and annual invoicing.  Please take a few minutes and send your preferred email address,  phone number, and mailing address to:  info@EchoChaletRoad.or

You may have noticed the new email address above. We are in the process of creating an Echo Chalet Road website. It will be set up for updates and news, as well as the contact address for all of us on the road. In addition, this website will make due payments easier with the capability to pay online. More to come later as we work with the vendor.

Need Funding for Chip Sealing Project

Chip sealing on our road is scheduled for this summer.  To get it repaired, we'll need everyone who uses the road to contribute in the spirit of being a good neighbor and spreading the cost fairly.  Of the 73 owners, only 48 have sent in their $600 portion.  (Invoices were sent out last Fall.)  In that group, eight owners stepped up and contributed over $600 because they know the importance of keeping this valuable asset and access in good condition.  Thank you to those bonus contributors.  We welcome anyone else who would like to make sure the repairs happen.

Formula 1 Race Series Update

Echo Chalet lost the bid to host the Formula 1 race series, so there is no need to practice on our road. Please remind the contractors who use our road that it is narrow and has blind corners. Also, if large trucks use the road, it would be good to lighten the loads until the ground has a chance to dry out from the winter moisture. The county load limit signs are a good reminder.

Thanks in advance to those who are getting their dues payment sent in.  Have a great Spring and safe travels, if you are returning from out of town.
